Eligible Projects

Eligible projects include, but are not limited to:

• marketing and promotional activities;
• tourism initiatives;
• seminars/workshops;
• technology and innovation projects;
• small-scale minor capital projects;
• research projects, feasibility studies and business plans.

Ineligible Projects

• Projects that benefit a single business;
• Projects whose primary impact is outside of Grenville County.* 

Eligible Costs

• Must directly relate to the project activities;
• Can be capital or non-capital costs.

Ineligible Costs

• Wages of current staff;
• Costs of core operations;
• Operating costs of ongoing operations (including basic websites);
• Leasehold improvements, construction, repairs.

Eligible Applicants

• Not for profit organizations operating within Grenville County;
• Business Improvement Areas located in Grenville County;
• Municipalities located within or comprising Grenville County.

Submitting an Application

Applicants must provide a completed and signed application that includes:

• project description;
• timeline;
• cashflow projection and project budget;
• copy of a motion by applicant's board / council to enter into the project agreement (if approved);
• any other documentation as requested by Grenville CFDC.

Applications can be submitted at any time, until funds are fully allocated for the year.

All approved projects will require the ultimate recipient to be contracted under a third-party agreement. The agreement will clearly identify the project statement of work and requirements of the ultimate recipient.

NOTE: In-kind contributions to the project are not included in the calculation of the 50% cost share but should be included in the application to demonstrate additional community partnerships.

Selection Process

• Applications will be assessed at monthly meetings of the Investment Committee, which occur on the second or third Wednesday of every calendar month.
• Applicants will be notified of the status of their application within 24 hours of the meeting.
• Applications will be scored according to the following criteria:

MANDATORY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (must be met in order to qualify)

1. Applicant is a Municipality, or not-for-profit organization, located in and/or conducting activities in Augusta, Edwardsburg/Cardinal, North Grenville and/or Prescott, and has not received GCFDC funding in the same fiscal year.
2. Project is to be completed and all CFDC funds expended by March 31 of the fiscal year in which project activities begin.
3. Application form is signed by the proper authority of the organization.
4. Project is incremental (new or enhanced initiatives, not related to the core operations of the organization).

PROJECT EVALUATION CRITERIA

1. Project addresses strategic local economic development priorities.
2. Project will have a significant, measurable impact on businesses and the local economy.
3. Project costs are reasonable and relate directly to the eligible project activities; project work plan and budget are sound.
4. Applicant has clear plans for sustaining the project activity/impact following the completion of the project.
5. Active partnerships are present.
6. Applicant has committed to the project to a degree that is deemed reasonable in relation to the applicant's resources and the funding requirements of this project and has demonstrated the ability to successfully complete the project by end of the fiscal year in which the project will begin.
7. CF Grenville funding is necessary for the project to be successfully implemented or to amplify its impact.

SUPPLEMENTARY DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED

1. Proof of legal name, business registration, and if incorporated, a copy of Articles of Incorporation (not required for municipalities).
2. Financial Statements for the most recent fiscal year-end (not required for municipalities).
3. Interim Financial Statements, if the fiscal year-end statements are dated more than five months ago (not required for municipalities).
4. Terms of Reference for consultants, if applicable.
5. Consultant / Supplier Quotations, if applicable (must be provided prior to final execution of Contribution Agreement).
6. Evidence of Community Support (Letters of Support, Municipal Council Motions of Support, financial contributions from other partners, etc. ).
7. Other supplementary documentation requested by Community Futures Grenville, if applicable.
